Type A silica gel is also called fine-pored silica gel is transparent and translucent particles. Its internal structure is a pore volume of 0.35-0.45ml/g, a pore diameter of 20-30 Angstrom, and a specific surface area of ≥600m2/g. The main application are following: 

 

• drying various industrial gases

• drying of instruments, electrical appliances, equipment

• containers and other various packaging items moisture-proof

• adsorbs flammable and explosive gases such as acetylene from compressed air

Type B silica gel is white transparent or semi-transparent spherical or massive particles. The pore structure of type B colloidal silica is between coarse and fine pores, with a pore volume of 0.60-0.80ml/g, an average pore diameter of 4.0-7.0nm, and a specific surface area of 450-650m2/g. The main application are following: 

• liquid drying

• desiccant and perfume carrier

• catalyst carrier

• silica sand

• air humidity regulator

• brightener, etc.

Also known as coarse-pored silica gel, silica gel in spherical and irregular shape. It is non-toxic and tasteless. Compared to the fine pore and B type silica gel, it has a relative larger surface area, which lead to stronger water adsorption ability. The main application are following:

• Used for moisture-proof packaging.

• Used for dehydration and purification of industrial gas.

• Remove organic acids and polymers in insulating oil.

• Adsorb the high molecular protein in the fermented product during the industrial fermentation process.

• Used as catalyst and catalyst carrier, etc.

Color indicating silica gel including, Blue silica gel, orange silica gel and purplish red silica gel. After moisture absorption, the color indicationg silica gel color will gradually change. Blue glue containing cobalt chloride has been banned from production in Europe and the United States.  The orange silica gel and purplish red silica gelcobalt-free discoloration indicator silica gel can replace the blue silica gel for the appliation. The main application are following:   

 

• drying and indicating the degree of drying or humidity

It is a white, high-purity reagent silica gel with specified pore volume, specific surface area, pore distribution and certain particle size distribution.

It is widely used in the analysis and separation of various natural and synthetic substances. At present, it has been widely used in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the main components or trace impurities of medicines, pesticides, Chinese herbal medicines, organic chemical products, petrochemical products, grains, foods, etc. and the extraction of certain substances. H-type silica gel can also be used as a dry cleaning agent carrier.
