MOISTURE REMOVAL ADDITIVE
The presence of trace moisture is the enemy in the preparation process of sealants, adhesives, elastomers and coatings. The isohydrogen esters in the polyurethane system will react with trace amount of water and generate CO2, that will cause problems such as foaming and degradation. In addition, vinyl polymers (polyvinyl chloride, etc) will release HCl when they cured or heated, causing the polymer to change color, yellow and become brittle, reducing the service life of the material. Similarly in metal coatings, the presence of trace amounts of water will react with metal ions such as zinc and aluminum to generate hydrogen, causing safety hazards such as excessive pressure and leakage of the packing and impairing product quality. Activated molecular sieve powder is good adsorbents to remove moisture and solve the problems.
