Molecular sieve 3A is known for its small pore size of approximately 3 Å (0.3 nm), 3A molecular sieve is primarily used for adsorbing small molecules such as water, helium, and hydrogen. It's commonly used in applications that require the removal of water from gases and liquids:

  • Drying of unsaturated hydrocarbons

  • Air drying

  • Drying of natural gas

  • Methanol and ethanol dehydration

Molecular sieve 4A is known for its small pore size of about 4 Å (0.4 nm). It is ideal for drying organic liquids, air, and liquid gases like propane and butane. It's also used in the purification of technical gases such as hydrogen, nitrogen, helium, and argon, as well as in the removal of carbon dioxide from gases.

  • Drying and removing of CO2 from natural gas, LPG, air, etc.

  • Removal of hydrocarbons, ammonia and methanol from gas steams.

  • Dehydration of refrigerant and air in the air break system

Molecular Sieve 5A is the calcium form of the Type A crystal structure. It has an effective pore opening of 5 angstroms (0.5 nm). It will adsorb molecules with a kinetic diameter of less than 5 Angstrom and exclude molecules larger than 0.5nm. The main application are following:

  • Removing water, CO2, H2S from sour natural gas streams, while decreasing COS formation

  • Separation of normal- and iso-paraffins.

  •  Production of high purity N2, O2, H2 and inert gases from mixed gas streams.

Molecular Sieve 13X

Molecular Sieve 13X is the sodium form of the type X crystal and has a much larger pore opening than the type A crystals. It will adsorb molecules with a kinetic diameter of less than 9 Angstrom (0.9nm) and exclude molecules of larger than 0.9nm. The main application of molecular sieve 13X are following:

  • Removal of CO2 and moisture from air and other gases.

  • Separation of enriched oxygen from air.

  • Removal of mercaptans and hydrpogen sulphide from hydrocarbon liquid streams such as LPG, butane, propane etc.

Molecular Sieve APG-III

APG III molecular sieve is an advanced adsorbent engineered for improved performance in air separation plant pre-purification units (APPU). It has significantly greater CO2 adsorption capacity compared with normal 13X. The improved CO2 capacity of APG III offers several benefits for air separation plant designers as well as plant owners and operators. Its applications are following: 

 

  • APG III can reduce the APPU size and lower plant capital and operating costs in new plant.

  • APG III used in plant revamps to reduce energy consumption or increase plant production capability.

Molecular Sieve 13X-HP

Molecular sieve 13X-HP is a specialized type of zeolite used in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation systems. It is designed to provide high purity oxygen by effectively separating oxygen from nitrogen in the air. The 13X-HP molecular sieve is known for its high nitrogen adsorption capacity and selectivity, which allows it to efficiently concentrate oxygen during the PSA process. This type of molecular sieve is particularly advantageous due to its faster adsorption rate, higher oxygen production rate, and longer service life compared to some other types of molecular sieves.

Molecular Sieve for Oxygen Concentrator

Zeolite molecular sieve is widely used in PSA or VPSA oxygen generation systems including medical care oxygen concentrators and industrial big oxygen generators. It plays a crucial role in the separation and purification of oxygen from air. These sieves are made from porous crystalline aluminosilicate minerals or synthetic zeolites, which have a well-defined pore structure. The pore size of the molecular sieve is engineered to be slightly larger than that of nitrogen molecules but smaller than oxygen molecules, which are slightly larger in size.

It is a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate with well-developed three-dimensional pore structure and strong polarity with pore opening of 0.5nm. Binderless 5A specially designed for PSA hydrogen purifications. It can also used for separation of normal paraffins from branched and cyclic hydrocarbons, PSA oxygen generation.
