Choose the Right Chromatography Silica Gel

Don't know how to choose the right chromatography silica gel? Read the following details and find the one most suitable for your analysis.

How to Select the Chromatography Silica Gel

Follow the below guidelines of how to choose the right oxygen molecular sieves. Contact us if you still have problems!

  1. Analyzing drugs, toxins, environmental pollutants, and their metabolites in biological matrices, such as pioglitazone, aconitine, and polychlorinated biphenyls.

  2. Separating bioactive molecules such as esters, antibiotics, bile acids, and oligosaccharides.

  3. Detecting mycotoxins in food, such as fumonisins.

  4. Detecting preservatives in cosmetics.

  5. Determining vitamins A, D, and E in food.

  1. Environmental and food safety fields

  2. Detecting organic pollutants in soil, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

  3. Detecting pesticide and veterinary drug residues in food, such as antibiotics.

  4. Analyzing pigments and sugars in food.

Bonded Silica Gel C8

The hydrophobic retention capacity is lower compared to C18, making it more suitable for separating strongly hydrophobic compounds and reducing analysis time.

Bonded Silica Gel C4

It has strong retention capacity for hydrophobic and polar compounds, making it suitable for the separation of biological samples.

Bonded Silica Gel -Phenyl

NH2 amino-bonded silica gel is a chromatography packing material where high-purity silica gel is used as the base, and amino propyl functional groups are bonded to the surface. It features a polar stationary phase and weak anionic exchange groups. Retention is achieved through weak anionic exchange (in aqueous solutions) or polar adsorption (in non-polar organic solvents), resulting in dual retention mechanisms.

Bonded Silica Gel -CN

Cyanopropyl-bonded silica gel is made from high-purity silica gel as the base material, with cyanopropyl groups bonded to its surface. It is suitable for both normal phase and reverse phase chromatography, exhibiting the highest polarity in reverse phase applications. In normal phase mode, it can replace silica gel, offering higher selectivity and faster equilibration compared to non-functionalized silica gel. In reverse phase mode, CN silica gel can replace C18 for specialized separations, and it provides stronger rapid equilibration compared to bare silica gel, making it suitable for the separation and analysis of proteins, steroids, and polar natural products.

Bonded Silica Gel -SH

The mercapto group, also known as the thiol group with the chemical formula -SH, when used to modify silica gel, allows for the adsorption of heavy metal ions. This method is straightforward and easy to operate, with noticeable adsorption effects. Mercapto silica gel can specifically adsorb heavy metals, including Pd²⁺, Pb²⁺, Cu²⁺, Cd²⁺, Ni²⁺, and Co²⁺, with good efficiency and without causing secondary pollution.
